Wayne didn't receive many awards following his
HS career, but he is a very talented prospect.
Wayne was headed for a tremendous senior season until he suffered a broken ankle in the fourth game. In just three and a half games he rushed for 831 yards and 12 TDs. Jimmy Addison, Dothan's head coach, told us that Wayne rushed for 311 yards in just over a half of action against Bainbridge, GA. "I know it's hard to believe, but he had another 140 yards called back due to penalties. That would've given him 451 yards and he only played the first half and one series in the second half." Despite his apparent talent at RB, Wayne is expected to play DB at Alabama. Addison says he can play corner or safety. "I could see him as a corner or growing into 210 pound Kevin Jackson type," Addison says. Although Wayne played sparingly on defense in HS, Addison says he has excellent skills in the secondary, "He has great speed, legitimate 4.45. I mean he just outruns people. Plus, he's very aggressive, loves contact. He has a knack for being around the football." As a junior, Wayne was the state's 300 meter high hurdle champion. He also runs the 100 meters |
